I am SO excited to announce that we are hiring another intern. Clay House Photography has reached a point where help is needed again and opportunities for aspiring wedding photographers are countless here! Not only would interns learn about the ins and outs of running a successful photography business, but they would have hands on experience shooting weddings and other sessions alongside of either Raegan or Abigail, our two photographers! The internship would be 12 weeks long, starting in September of 2019, but could potentially transition into a full time role at Clay House Photography. Each week would look somewhat different, but the commitment would be between 10-15 hours a week, mostly working remotely. Please fill out the application below to be considered for an interview.

Job Description

In order to be considered for this internship you must live in Indiana and be available to meet in person with us at least once a week. In order to shoot weddings you must have a flexible weekend schedule. The internship will last twelve weeks, starting in September 2019. You don’t have to have your own equipment but it is ideal. You will assist us with blogging, emailing, creating templates, social media marketing, editing, and scheduling. You will shoot weddings with us as well as assist during some family and engagement sessions. Photos taken during the internship may be added to your own portfolio after signing a non-disclosure with Clay House Photography. Pay will be discussed upon an interview.

The selected intern will gain knowledge in the following areas:

  • Small business finance and accounting

  • Use of editing softwares including Lightroom and Photo Mechanic

  • Marketing

  • Social media strategies

  • Leadership

  • Budgeting

  • Time management

  • Client communications

  • Website management

  • Blogging

  • Professionalism with vendors, clients, etc.

  • Content creation (contracts, shot lists, invoices, etc.)

  • Email lists and promotions

  • Knowledge of camera equipment

  • Furthering education about the industry

  • Drinking coffee and making killer Spotify playlists

  • Branding/Re-branding 

  • How to create presets
