Meet Sam

Hi I’m Sam, an associate wedding photographer here at Clay House! I started out as family photographer, but have been in the wedding world for almost five years now. I live with my family just outside of Indianapolis.

I have been married to my best friend and husband Tyler for five beautiful years. We’ve had four amazing blessings appear in those five year as well- two sweet babies, and two perfect pups. Our son Tripp is two, our daughter Nova is seven months old, and I can’t not mention our fur babies, LJ and Mosley. I consider myself so lucky to have this little family and am so thankful everyday.

I love farmers markets on Saturday mornings, brunch, anywhere with a beach, and obviously Target. I have watched Grey’s Anatomy more times than I can count and am now confident that I can diagnose those around me because of it. Iced caramel macchiatos are my absolute favorite... Even in the winter. I am guilty of using way too many exclamation marks in any and all types of communication. I believe that lipstick is a must, spicy margaritas are life, and did I mention iced coffee already?!

Photography has been important to me since I was young, and it’s pretty wild to me that I get to live out my dream job by walking alongside couples on their biggest day with a camera in hand. A wedding day contains so much emotion and moves so dang fast, and that’s why I believe freezing some of those moments through photographs is so powerful and important. Wedding photography is so much more to me than capturing the perfect sunset or first kiss moment. I want to show you the real moments... like what it looked like when your Grandma sat in the first row of the ceremony, beaming with pride. I want to be there to capture the faces of your best friends when they first see you in your dress. I want to give you photos that your kids and their kids can admire for years to come. Marriage is so much more than a wedding day, but it’s truly an honor to witness the day that two become one and to capture the moments that start at the very beginning of that new story.
